Progressive pitch make more space for the debris which in turn push them upwards.

The higher the pitch or fewer turns the instrument has, the more flexible it will be, but
in turn, the helical angle will decrease, and the file will have less cutting capacity,
so it will need more rotations to be effective.

Post machining gold heat treatment produces a better arrangement of the crystal structure which strengthen the files.
